Let us introduce you to our Board Members
Sean graduated from Bryant College in Smithfield, Rhode Island with a degree in Business Administration. Sean has worked in Business Development for more than 10 years. He has been fortunate to work with The University of Central Florida Athletics, The Orlando Magic and Walt Disney World. He also was successful in the development of start up organizations.
In November of 2008, he was involved in a vehicle accident. During the accident, he sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Spinal Cord Injury (C-6 Incomplete) and multiple Strokes.
After his accident, Sean struggled with his new life and lack of independence. He found solace in his faith and exercise.
I'm LUCKY, and I'm stubborn. I get frustrated with the limits imposed on people with disabilities. I believe that Accessibility = Opportunity.
Sean attempts to live each day. Since his accident, he became an Ironman, ran the Boston Marathon, qualified for Paralympic Time Trials in Track and made the US National Team in the sport of Paratriathlon. He has raced in three ITU World Championships. During this time, he has advocated for Adaptive Sports Programs in Central Florida, coordinated fundraising events and helped disabled veterans go to college.
In addition to his athletic endeavors, Sean serves as an advocate for people with disabilities in Central Florida and serves on the Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Program Advisory Council for the state of Florida. In addition to networking with legislators and community leaders, he makes himself available to individuals and their Caregivers.
I've been fortunate and blessed to experience so much in life. I have an amazing support group of family and friends. You will not achieve your greatest potential if you try to do everything on your own. There are support groups and resources for people living with disabilities and their caregivers.
My greatest gifts are my daughters Megan and Riley. They inspire me to be a better person and accomplish great things.

When a door closes, a window opens. Every day I work with people with disabilities to find that window of hope in order to move towards it. There is a purpose and passion in every one that sometimes gets lost when an injury occurs. What "Lie down or stand-up" offers is a way for people with disabilities to find their passion and give them hope that it's worth standing up. I'm excited and happy to be a part of this wonderful organization.
